I am starting to use SoundShow for D&D. It looks like a really nice software and love the ability to customize everything, but i am missing one feature i would like to have.
I’m planning to build a custom controller with a touchscreen and physical encoders for MIDI control. Right now, I’m running into an issue with volume control:
- If I change volume from the touchscreen, and then use a physical encoder thru midi, the volume can jump unexpectedly.
- If the track assigned to “Volume Player 1” changes to another track with a different volume, the encoder position no longer matches the software value, and the volume will jump when i try to change the volume of the new track.
- Using “soft takeover mode” helps, but it can still be difficult because I have to turn the encoder back and forth to find the takeover point, and makes it almost impossible to do a fast small volume adjustment via MIDI.
-For sound effects and ambience, I’d also like to control more players directly via MIDI.
Requested improvements:
Improve encoder/touchscreen synchronization for volume controls, so volume changes don’t jump when switching between touch and physical MIDI encoders. I think the option to use relative midi control can be the solution.
Increase the number of available “Volume Player” MIDI channels from 4 to 8.
